Day 3

Magic Muffin! Magic Muffin! Magic Muffin!

The take-off

Hitting the water!

The Aftermath

Greetings from Cape Town Everyone,

Today we spent our second day in the townships, Capricorn and Overcome Heights. The Lord did wonderful things and moved in incredible ways. It was so encouraging to see the children come back having remembered the memory verse and bible story from yesterday. Additionally, the children returned with even more joy than the day before; it is evident that God is working here. We have really enjoyed getting to work with the Living Hope staff, and we ask that you continue to pray for them. They work tirelessly year round to show these Children the light of God. It has been incredible to watch such a dedicated ministry like Living Hope serving these communities so selflessly. Not only have we built relationships with the children and the Living Hope staff, but also the eleven of us have become a family, encouraging one another and working seamlessly together. For instance, our dinner conversation included South African politics, deal breakers in relationships, and hair gel. Of course, in that mix there were some awkward and embarrassing moments. The Team House staff can attest to our bonding as they participated in our lively conversations. After a rewarding day at the holiday clubs, some of the crazy fools on our team decided to fulfill their goal of plunging into the ocean. Please keep in mind that it is WINTER here and we are not that far from Antarctica. Amy found a special something to remind her of routine morning breakfast: Muffin Magic, however, due to her overwhelming excitement, she failed to recognize the difference in word order. We can not wait to see what the Lord has planned for tomorrow and rest assured there will be a plethora of stories to tell upon our arrival in the states.

Stay Classy Alabama.
Francie and Laura

P.S. Only had a camera on one site today that we can upload so we will have more of everyone else tomorrow.  Sorry and thanks!!

  1. Hello everyone! The enthusiasm you have for doing God's work and the love you have for all people is evident from the photos. Keep up the good work. You have a short time there, so God's speed and God's strength to you. And so you are swimming in the ocean just off the coast of Antarctica in winter!
